Visit to Rumah SVP Klang
The Board of Directors for year 17/18 of the Interact Club SMK Seafield visited Rumah SVP Klang on the 29th of November (Wednesday) to do a service project. The home is specifically catered for abondened and abused boys under the age of 12. Our main objective was to spruce up the living environment of the home and to promote a healthy development for the children.
We gathered at school at 7.30am. There were 17 of us in total who participated in this service project and we left the school at 8am. After approximately 20 minutes, we reached our destination. Before we began our project, we were given a short briefing by the project director to ensure that everyone is on the same page. We were divided into two main groups. Group 1 was in charge of cleaning and replacing the broken window panes while Group 2 was in charge of painting the walls and doors of the home. Besides that, some of us also cleaned up the lawn, restored the furniture in the living room and changed the curtains in the children’s rooms.
In a nutshell, it was definitely a day well spent contributing to this home. We hope to plan another visit to this home again in the near future. This way, we can constantly ensure that the children will have a cheerful and positive environment to live in.
